Palmer ‘ecstatic’ to compete at British Champs
Team Luton swimmer Lawrence Palmer relished the experience of competing at the British Championships/World Trials last week, writes Mike Simmonds.
The 20-year-old was in the men’s Open 50m breaststroke at Ponds Forge in Sheffield, up against a number of top domestic opponents.
Palmer, who also coaches at Putteridge SC, said: “I went into the event feeling the best physically and mentally I have ever been. The experience was excellent and one I wish to build on.

Hide Ad“I’ve been at competitions with top swimmers before but not to this extent.
Palmer clocked 29.08secs in his heat and a quirk of fate saw him in the semi-finals as first reserve. where he swam 29.29secs to finish 15th.
