Hockey club juniors claim first and second at tournament
Leighton Buzzard hosted their annual competition at the weekend with Luton entering two teams into this event.
Both teams won every game in their pool to progress to the semi-finals.

Hide AdBoth Luton teams won their respective semis with one Luton team having to keep their cool when their match went to extra time and then penalty shuffles.
But victory secured a Luton versus Luton final, which Luton Reds won.
Both coaches, Matt Dobson and Iain Starkey, were delighted with the result and the performances of both teams.
Some very good hockey skills were demonstrated by all the players in both teams, with neither team losing a game until they came up against one another in the final.
Gold and silver medals were awarded to the players.

Hide AdThe Ladies’ Firsts were away to Leighton Buzzard at the weekend.
Both teams started strongly and there were some powerful shots on both goals, which were well saved.
Luton enjoyed good possession and played some nice hockey, but the hosts’ held firm as the two sides played out a 0-0 draw.
The Ladies’ Seconds were at home to Stevenage.
Luton found their hosts hard to break down
But Kimarla Johnson managed to score twoce to secure victory.The Men’s Firsts won 4-0 at home to Harpenden, while the Men’s Seconds lost 4-1 away to Berhamsted.
The Men’s Thirds lost at home to Berkhamsted Thirds 3-1 and the Men’s Fourths lost 2-1 away to Southgate Adelaide.
