Lafayette returns as Hatters lose to Wombles
A number of senior Town players got valuable minutes under their belts with Matt Robinson, Luke Rooney, Jake Howells, Alex Lacey and Paul Connolly all playing, while striker Ross Lafayette completed just over an hour on his return from a hernia operation.
Lafayette and Lacey had the Town’s best chances but it was the home side that ran out narrow victors when Dons trialist Jamal Branker finished emphatically from close range with 12 minutes left.

Hide AdYouth team manager Paul Driver, who took charge of the fixture, told the club’s official website, said: “The most important aspect of the game was getting minutes into the legs of a number of senior professionals.
“That was a massive plus in a really competitive game, especially for Ross who created a number of chances by himself.
“The goal we conceded was disappointing, it was from a set-piece. From a very early stage you knew the game would be decided by a moment like that and it’s frustrating that we were on the receiving end of one.”
