Luton ended an almost 50-year wait for victory at Preston North End on Saturday as they picked up a fine 1-0 victory. It looked like the spoils would be shared until late on when Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall's effort from Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu's cross was superbly saved by Daniel Iversen, only for the keeper to divert James Collins' follow-up over the line. To find out how the visitors rated on the afternoon, see below.
1. Simon Sluga: 7.5
Very little came his way in the first half, but showed real bravery to come off his line and deny Evans after the break, before extending himself to tip away a flicked header late on as he racked up a ninth clean sheet of the season.
2. James Bree: 7
Went closest in the first half as buoyed by his goal against Coventry saw a daisycutter from range draw a decent stop from Iversen. Set-pieces didn’t quite come off but helped Town to yet another shut out on the road.
3. Jordan Clark: 7
Deployed at left back once more and kept a close eye on Scott Sinclair throughout. Only beaten once in the second half but Town’s defence shuffled across well. One scooped volley easily gathered by Iversen too.
4. Matty Pearson: 7.5
Up against the physical Ched Evans, he dominated proceedings and when Preston went long, which was often, he was there to head away. Made one vital clearance from a dangerous free kick into the box too.
