Ex-Luton Town winger Paddy McCourt has agreed a one year deal with Northern Ireland Football League Premiership side Glenavon.

The 32-year-old left Kenilworth Road by mutual consent in May to return home after his wife Laura was diagnosed with a brain tumour, which she underwent a successful operation on last month and doctors are optimistic that she will make a full recovery.

McCourt, who made 25 appearances for the Hatters, scoring once last season, had been linked with a move back to Derry City, but boss Kenny Shiels opted not sign the winger, and he was unveiled at Mourneview Park on Tuesday evening.
