It’s the Cali-R festive special
Odyssey – now fronted by Steven Collazo, son of group founder Lillian Lopez – were Top Ten regulars in the 70s and 80s with such favourites as Native New Yorker, Use It Up And Wear It Out and Going Back To My Roots. They’ve topped the charts all over the world and have recorded songs in Yoruba, Xhosa, French, Spanish, Italian and even a dialect called Yanyego – a mixture of African and Spanish that originated in Cuba.
Cali-R promoter Sid Hudson said: “Odyssey have always been a top-class group and they were sensational the last time they played at Cali-R. It’s going to be another great night!”
