Luton produced their best display of the season to pick up a magnificent 3-0 win over Preston North End on Saturday. James Collins was the hero with a brilliant hat-trick, his fifth for the club, to simply blow away their opponents. To find out how the hosts rated on the afternoon, see below.
1. James Shea: 7.5
Against a side who had the best away record in the league, he would have been expecting a far tougher afternoon, but once he comfortably handled Barkhuizen’s early shot, that was it for the rest of the day, racking up another shut-out.
2. Matty Pearson: 8.5
Becoming so much more than a makeshift right back at this level now as he gives Town a real solid base from which to work from. Not afraid to get forward now and again, but kept the dangerous Sinclair quiet from minute one.
3. Dan Potts: 8.5
Has been excellent since his return to the side and carried that on, getting through another 90 minutes, his third in a row after being out for so long. Overlapped when he could and got things moving on the left hand side.
4. Tom Lockyer: 9
Did everything he had to with a real class as whatever Preston sent into the box, he was more often than not there to clear it away. Enjoyed the odd foray forward late on too, which will undoubtedly become a feature of his play.
