Recycle those festive cards
High street chain Marks & Spencer has pledged to fund a tree at the Woodland Trust for every 1,000 cards dropped in its stores in January.
Crawley Green Infant School has been taking part in the Trust’s Christmas card recycling scheme since 1997. It’s an Eco School where little learners are taught the value of waste and the importance of recycling.

Hide AdHeadteacher Gill Turner said: “The whole school is reminded of the scheme each December during eco assemblies.
“Pupils are always enthusiastic about collecting more cards than they did the previous year and they also show an interest in how many trees will be planted as a result. Members of the eco committee count the cards and produce an annual graph.
“Children often ask to help and thoroughly enjoy this practical counting project.”
