45,365 deaths have been recorded within 28 days of a positive test, with a large daily rise of 367 deaths since yesterday.

Luton Borough Council leader, Cllr Hazel Simmons, warned last week that Luton is in the grip of a "real public health crisis" due to rising Covid-19 figures.

Members of the public are urged to avoid meeting with others outside their own household.

If the number of cases continues to rise, Luton may soon be pushed into Tier 2 restrictions, the council has stated.
